In the thriving house and techno scene of Amsterdam there is a youngster that's starting to make a name for himself.
At an early age Bas got his first taste of electronic music by listening to the house and techno compilation CD's his dad played for him. After this, his father took the underaged Bas and smuggled him into his first ever techno party.
“I still remember Nuno Dos Santos and Patrice Baumel playing as '360 soundsystem' at this party called 'Earth' in Paradiso. I was hooked and felt like I needed to know more about this kind of music.”
From that moment on Bas has been working steadily as a musician, earning himself the position of runner-up (out of 160 participants) in the prestigious TWSTD DJ contest back in 2013. In 2015 A Track A Day tipped the youngster for having a 'knack for the deep and atmospheric' and Patrice Baumel mentioned him to be a thriving dj for the Dutch techno scene. With an ever growing reputation, Bas has been booked alongside artists such as Culoe de Song, Erol Alkan, Robag Wruhme, Patrice Bäumel and Chymera in Amsterdam's biggest venues such as Radion, Cruquiusgilde, Marktkantine and Studio 80.
With a characteristic style Bas always sets out to find the right sentiment in his sets, be it warm-up or peaking at prime time. He describes his sound to be “rhythmic and atmospheric” which results in a well thought out collection of music. Keep an eye out for him!
